General Studies 250

General Studies 250

General Studies 250 is a one-unit, low-stress class that is an introduction to university success.

The class is primarily for military-connected students (active duty, veterans, military families and ROTC members) and is taken as C/NC. Non military-affiliated students are permitted to enroll in the class, however priority is given to military students.

The purpose of this class is to introduce military-affiliated personnel who are new students (new to college or new to a university) to a network of current students and staff who can assist them in learning about the academic culture, campus resources, and student services/activities available at SDSU. Classes may include instruction on:

  • Essay writing for scholarships
  • Conducting effective library research
  • Enrolling with disability services
  • Studying effectively for the WPA
  • Career services resources
  • Time management, test taking and study skills

Students who actively participate in this class can expect to have an easier transition to the university and greater success in the academic environment and campus community. The class is offered on Monday and Tuesday. Students should select either Monday (Schedule #21710) from 1200-1250 or Tuesday (Schedule #21711) from 1230-1320.

This course is currently not being offered. For more information email Elisa East, Interim Director, Military and Veterans Program at [email protected]
