High Impact Practices
BE HIP! consists of a series of activities, events, and initiatives to promote undergraduate
student participation in High Impact Practices (HIPs). BE HIP! aims to inform students
on the benefits of co-curricular academic activities such as study abroad, undergraduate
research and creative activities, service learning, and internships. BE HIP! academic
programs strategically focus on engaging diverse students, including but not limited
to first-generation, low-income, underrepresented, local commuter, foster, Compact
and EOP students, in high impact educational practices (HIPs). The goal is to motivate
students to develop academic behaviors early in their college career that lead to
engagement in high impact practices and experiential learning activities.
