Extra Costs of Study Abroad
The Cost of Attendance (COA) for Study Abroad programs is determined by information provided by the Global Education Office and/or the Partner Program/Host Institution.
If you have additional costs not included in your study abroad COA, you may want to consider submitting a COA Appeal. A COA Appeal can in some cases provide you with additional loan eligibility if the loan amounts you are offered is below your annual limits.
For DIRECT study abroad programs in the Fall and Spring semesters, all program costs are included in the Students Contractual-Special Enrollment Agreement. No COA Appeal is necessary
For DIRECT Study Abroad Programs in the Summer, we may consider a Study Abroad COA Appeal for passport, visa, vaccine, and flight expenses. Under some circumstances we can consider tuition and accommodation costs dependent on the student's other enrollment history.
For EXCHANGE Programs in the Fall and Spring semesters, we may consider a Study Abroad COA Appeal for passport, visa, vaccine, and flight expenses.
For GLOBAL SEMINAR and COURSE EMBEDDED programs during the Summer, Winter, and Spring Break we may consider a Study Abroad COA Appeal for passport, visa, vaccine, flight, and accomodation costs.
*** All Study Abroad COA Appeal items listed above are subject to evaluation. COA increases are evaluated based on the individual student’s circumstances and program. Please request this task be added to your account at the Cal Coast Student Financial Center if you believe it is applicable.
