SDSU AZTEC Scholarships

San Diego State University has close to 800 scholarship opportunities to support our students’ educational goals.  Funding for our scholarships has been provided by generous donors to SDSU who believe in higher education and your ability to achieve academic success.

Our application portal, “Aztec Scholarships,” allows students to apply for university scholarships via one application. The SDSU Scholarship Office coordinates the SDSU scholarship application and awarding process with core committees from the various colleges, departments and organizations responsible for selecting recipients.

The application process for students is simple and fast. Based on university and application data, Aztec Scholarships automatically filters eligible applications and sends them to SDSU scholarship committees for award consideration. Scholarship committees are typically composed of university faculty and/or staff from the academic program or campus organization most closely affiliated with the scholarship. SDSU Scholarship Office staff members are not part of any scholarship committee.

APPLY

Current Students

To maximize your eligibility for the greatest number of scholarships, current SDSU students are strongly encouraged to submit the general application by the Current Student Early Action Deadline. Scholarship awards are determined during multiple review periods throughout the application cycle. Students who apply by the early action deadline will be considered in all review periods, including those held during the fall semester.

Students who submit an application after the early action deadline are still encouraged to apply; however, these applications will only be reviewed for scholarships awarded in later review periods. Note: the majority of scholarships are awarded after the final deadline in September.

Please refer to the Student Deadline chart below for important dates and additional details.

Newly Admitted Students

Once admitted and after completing their Intent to Enroll, students may log into Aztec Scholarships during the application period. Important: Incoming students must submit their Intent to Enroll to be matched to and awarded any scholarships through Aztec Scholarships.

Scholarship award decisions are made during multiple review periods throughout the application cycle. Students who apply after April 10 but by the Incoming Student Early Action Deadline will be considered for scholarships awarded in all review periods following the July 31 deadline.

Students who are unable to submit their application by the Incoming Student Early Action Deadline are still encouraged to apply; however, applications submitted after this date will only be considered for scholarships awarded after the final deadline. Note: the majority of scholarships are awarded after the final deadline in September.

The Recruitment Scholarship Deadline applies only to select accounts used for recruitment purposes. Eligible students will receive an invitation to apply.

Please review the Student Deadline chart below for additional details and important dates.

General Eligibility and Application Access
