Active Military Service & Education Loan Deferment
As the borrower of an education loan, you may be eligible to defer (postpone) repayment of that loan for up to 3 years if serving on active duty during:
- War or other military operation
- National emergency
- If performing qualifying National Guard duty under the same circumstances
Note: For PLUS Loans (Parent PLUS / Grad PLUS), only principal is deferred. Interest continues to accrue.
