What I do at Career Services
As the Associate Director of Experiential Learning, I manage 3 experiential learning areas:
- Internships
- Mentoring
- Service Learning
All three of these experiences allow students to develop their professionalism and explore career opportunities. Through the development of programming and resources for students, faculty/staff and employers, my team and I are able to increase access to experiential learning opportunities for all SDSU students.
A little bit about myself
I am a proud Aztec for Life. Go Aztecs! I am a double SDSU alumna. I earned my undergraduate degree in Recreation Administration with an Emphasis in Outdoors and my graduate degree in Postsecondary Educational Leadership with an Emphasis in Student Affairs. Additionally, I am certified in the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, which is a personality assessment.
I have worked at SDSU since 2006 in various offices including the Academic Advising Center, Compact Scholars Program, and the Business Advising Center. I am also the advisor for the student organization, Compact Scholars Student Association. My passion is helping students actualize their dream of attending college, earning a degree, and becoming professionals.
My favorite time of year is Aztec basketball season, and I have been attending games since 1999. My favorite place is Kings Canyon in Sequoia National Park. My life quote is by Ralph Waldo Emerson: “What lies behind us and what lies before us, are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.”
