Career Services recognizes the importance of STEM-focused programming to help students find internships and careers in their desired field.

Programs include workshops and opportunities to network with employers who hire STEM students. Programs take place throughout the year, but most STEM programs are scheduled to coincide with the STEM Employment fair in October, and the Spring Career and Internship Fair in February.

Sample STEM events include the STEM Technical Resumé workshop and the STEM Technical Interviewing workshop.

The Security Clearance Symposium is a STEM sponsored event, but is open to students of all majors.

Events are open to undergraduate and graduate students at all levels. For more information, view the current calendar of events, or visit Handshake

Internships are Important

Did you know that working at least one internship increases your probability of getting a better position upon graduation? It's important to start internship efforts early in your course of studies. Learn more about internships.

October is STEM Careers Month

Each October SDSU Career Services, in collaboration with the College of Engineering and the College of Sciences, offers the campuswide STEM Careers Month. October events are offered in an effort to build new collaborations and centralize STEM-related opportunities on campus.

STEM employers

Each of these events is centered around a panel of employers who share their expertise about employment issues.  Many of these employers are SDSU alumni.  In addition to Career Services workshops and symposiums, many STEM employers offer information sessions throughout the year, allowing students to learn more about their organizations.

STEM Jobs

STEM employers also post hundreds of jobs every year with Career Services. To learn more about specific opportunities (internships and full-time employment), visit Handshake and follow instructions provided to apply for a specific position.
