James C. Gaither Junior Fellows Program

In 2013, San Diego State University became a nominating campus for the James C. Gaither Junior Fellows Program, sponsored by the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace. This private, nonprofit organization is dedicated to advancing cooperation between nations and promoting active international engagement by the United States.

Fellowship Nominations

The application process for San Diego State University students applying to the James C. Gaither Junior Fellows Program is open.

To be considered as an applicant from San Diego State University, be sure to do the following:

A campus review team will review and recommend student applicants in January 2017. Students will be informed of the status of their applications by the end of January 2017.

About the Junior Fellows Program

Junior Fellows work as research assistants to the Endowment's senior associates, receiving hands-on exposure to international policy-making.

Junior Fellows have the opportunity to:

  • Conduct research for books
  • Co-author journal articles and policy papers
  • Participate in meetings with high-level officials
  • Contribute to congressional testimony
  • Organize briefings attended by scholars, journalists and government officials

Positions are paid, full-time positions for one year.
