Cancellation deadline is two weeks before the event date. Career fair cancellations must be in writing to [email protected] or the coordinator of the career fair. There is a $50 required administrative fee for processing a refund. Cancellations received less than two weeks prior to the event and day-of-event no-shows are not eligible for a refund. Tips for Success

  • Submit your license plate number for Parking Services ahead of the career fair.
  • Arrive one hour prior to the fair. Check-in opens at 9 AM.
  • Be approachable, professional, and sincere with attendees. Representatives are one of the most important factors to success at the career fair. You are the face and image of your company.
  • Ask passing-by attendees friendly, open-ended and specific questions, such as, “What is your major and and what do you like about it?”.
  • Bring business cards. A valuable aspect of attending a career fair for students is receiving a business card with personal information rather than “[email protected]”.
  • Invite representatives who are SDSU alumni, if possible. It’s a great selling point when current students see a former SDSU student thriving at your company.
  • Bring two representatives. Take turns eating lunch. You’ll be able to relax knowing your table is still staffed.
  • Prepare ahead of the career fair. Know about the opportunities available at your company and be able to speak specifically about opportunities’ responsibilities and application process.
  • Ask students about their peers that may be interested in your organization.
  • Stand in front of your table so there is no barrier between you and the attendees. Do not stay on your laptop or phone. Be approachable.
  • Talk with students from every grade creating a long-term investment in the student body.
  • Brand your space. Your career fair table represents your company. Creating an enticing experience for students with cohesive and eye-catching table display and a chance to win exciting giveaways.
  • Have your table display communicate clearly what your company does even if your company is relatively well known, students might not be familiar with the work you do.
  • Have a sign listing the majors you are interested in hiring even if you seek all majors.
  • Develop a clear strategy for collecting student information and follow up with students you have talked with at the fair. This creates a positive image of your company and shows that you care about them.
  • Complete our career fair Survey to assist us in improving your experience in the future.
