Assessment Tools
We offer career assessments that you can use in all stages of your career development, from choosing a major, occupations and graduate programs to changing careers.
To obtain an assessment referral, ask a career counselor during your appointment, or drop by during our walk-in hours:
- Mon – Thu: 1:00 p.m. – 2:45 p.m.
- Fri: 10:00 a.m. – 11:45 a.m

TypeFocus
TypeFocus is a career assessment tool that helps focus career decisions by providing individualized information about personality preference patterns, career satisfaction, and career options. TypeFocus can be applied to a variety of areas such as choosing majors, investigating occupations, and considering graduate school.
To access TypeFocus for free, you must be a registered student within Handshake.
Strong Interest Inventory
Strong Interest Inventory will help you to clarify your interests and identify majors and occupations related to those interests.
This assessment requires a $10 fee and a follow-up appointment for interpretation.**

O*Net Interest Profiler
O*Net Interest Profiler is a Holland code interest survey developed by the U.S. Department of Labor that generates a report with a student's interests and a list of occupations in "Job Zones" (level of education). Available free in our Career Resource Room.
O*Net Work Importance Profiler
O*Net Work Importance Profiler is a tool that assesses vocational work values — what people think is important in their work. It helps participants identify their most important work values and the possible occupations that correspond with those values.
