What our interns say:

I feel like the "internship" title does not do justice to the experience you will receive by working at Well-being & Health Promotion. I worked at Well-being & Health Promotion while earning my Master of Public Health, and it gave me the hands on experience that I didn't receive in the program. While I was given direction and always felt comfortable turning to my supervisors for advice, I was given more freedom than I expected. This allowed me to grow and learn how to truly work in the real world by managing my time, communicating with professionals, collaborating with others, and meeting deadlines. If you want an internship that will prepare your career, then don't hesitate to apply at Well-being & Health Promotion!

—Shantille Thompson

Interning at the Well-being & Health Promotion Department gives me the opportunity to work with dedicated professional staff in a great facility for an amazing cause.  It exposes me to a full range of school-based public health prevention programs, giving me the opportunity to become a leader in school-wide health events and student health programs.  My involvement in program development, implementation, and evaluation has given me tremendous respect for public health and the Well-being & Health Promotion Department is, by far, the most underrated organization at SDSU.

—Jimmy Shiba

Working at Well-being & Health Promotion has been an amazing experience for me. The staff members are very professional, helpful, creative, intelligent, and very easy to approach for help or advice. They go above and beyond to make their interns feel like the work they do is appreciated! The opportunities as an intern are endless, including workshops, presentations, tabling, creating new marketing material, and getting to interact with the diverse student population. Throughout my time as an intern, I have grown professionally as well. I have learned new techniques to prepare me for entering the workforce. I would recommend this internship to anyone! Well-being & Health Promotion is a great place to intern!!

—Bailey Madnick

Interning for the Well-being & Health Promotion Department at SDSU provided me with an education that I would have never received in the classroom. The hands-on work with research methods, budgeting, permits, and community outreach far surpassed my expectations and gave me the experience and confidence to work in my field soon after graduation.
