How Does It Work?
Everyday Mindfulness & Meditation is a workshop designed to help students establish a foundation in mindfulness and meditation skills. It is appropriate for students who are interested in learning how to cope with stress more effectively, how to unhook from unhelpful thinking, and how to build their focus, concentration, and ability to be fully present in life. Regular mindfulness practice can help students to develop greater resilience, self-knowledge, and sense of well-being.
Students are invited to attend the workshop once a week for at least three weeks, as the experiential aspects of mindfulness take some time to get rooted.
Sessions take place:
- In-person: Tuesdays 3:00 - 4:30 p.m., Conference Room #4, 4th Floor of Calpulli Center
- Virtual: Wednesdays 1:30 - 3:00 p.m. (contact us at 619-594-5220 for the Zoom link)
Workshops begin in the second weeks of the Fall and Spring semesters, and run through the last week of classes. The workshop is facilitated by a therapist, with an emphasis on learning and practice. Students will not be asked to disclose any more than what they are comfortable with.
