General Information about Advisers

Adviser eligibility

All student organizations are required to have an eligible on-campus SDSU staff or faculty advisor. Advisers must be either part-time or full-time employees. (Auxiliary staff and student assistants are not eligible to serve as advisers.) Employee eligibility and confirmation of status is verified when organizations apply for official recognition status. The adviser is an integral part of the organization, and he or she should be someone who is familiar with the group’s area of interest or mission.
