Fraternity & Sorority Chapter Directory

Each chapter directory profile includes links to their inter/national organization website, chapter leader email address, Greek letters, nicknames, council affiliation, SDSU founding/chartering year, public motto, and instagram handle. The following tips may be helpful to keep in mind when researching different chapters:

  • All chapter leaders are student leaders, meaning they are expected to first prioritize their academics and wellbeing. Your patience and understanding with their response time is appreciated.
  • Chapters belong to the same inter/national organization but have a different culture on each campus. They may also vary based on geographic region, type of institution, or changes in membership and leadership over time. We encourage you to review both the inter/national organization website as well as the local chapter social media to understand each group's culture at SDSU. The university does not manage external pages or accounts.
  • We understand the Greek letters can be confusing, but they are not random. Greek letters hold special meaning for members and symbolize the values and history of the organization. The Pierce Greek Life Center has no expectation that interested students memorize the Greek alphabet or chapter names. However, if you have questions or concerns about a particular organization, it is helpful to know the correct name.
  • Historically Black and culturally-based fraternities and sororities frequently use their chapter name in addition to, or in place of, the organization name. This can be a point of pride especially for chapters founded early in the organization's history or those who operate as approved city-wide chapters. Chapters are typically assigned their own name by the inter/national organization in order of the Greek alphabet, beginning with the "Alpha" designation. SDSU is honored to be home to these founding chapters: Alpha Pi Sigma, Alpha Psi Rho, and Delta Sigma Psi.

Fraternity & Sorority Chapter Facilities

The Pierce Greek Life Center does not own, manage, operate, or lease any fraternity and sorority housing. However, the university may offer support to recognized chapters by

  • Reviewing requests for a Greek Life Exemption to the Sophomore Success Program. First-year students who join a social fraternity or sorority during the Fall semester can request to live in the university-recognized chapter facility during their sophomore year; however, both the student and the chapter must meet specific requirements in order to be eligible for this exemption process. More information is available on the Sophomore Housing website.
  • Reviewing requests to designate a university-recognized chapter facility. Chapters must identify a live-in house manager, obtain a conditional use permit through the city, be fully recognized in RSO, and apply for university recognition before operating a chapter facility. Otherwise, the location is considered an unrecognized satellite house. At all locations and at all times, chapters must comply with federal, state, and local laws as well as relevant student organization policies and procedures.
