Design Institute is looking for a motivated, creative, and innovative intern to assist with marketing activities and digital content development.

Under direct supervision of the Chief Marketing Officer and daily interactions with the Marketing Specialist, the Marketing Intern will collaborate and assist with creating, writing, editing, fact-checking, deploying, tracking, and measuring content across online and offline channels. All activities and content must meet DI brand and social media guidelines. Ultimately, all activities and content should support annual enrollment goals, increase awareness, and contribute to the overall success of DI and its programs and be consistent with the goals and the mission of the Institution. The Marketing Intern will work in collaboration with the marketing team, admissions, academic teams, administrative teams, and external marketing partners. Creative new ideas to increase awareness and engagement are welcome.

Immediate supervisor will be the Chief Marketing Officer.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Execute content strategy developed in conjunction with the Marketing Specialist.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of the industry and DI programs and policies as they apply to social media communications and content.
  • Develop written, graphic, photographic, and video content for web and social media.
  • Make recommendations incorporating the latest social media practices, content, technologies and trends in higher education and related industries.
    Support marketing team at live and online events.
  • As a member of the marketing team, participate in marketing, staff, vendor, and other meetings, as required.
  • Provide immediate supervisor a weekly summary of activities and accomplishments in agreed upon format. Leverage existing project management solution for task tracking.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Other Internship Parameters

This is an internship position paid hourly for 15 hours/week as needed. Schedule must be approved by immediate supervisor. The internship begins in January (Date TBD) and concludes in April/May. Option to extend for Summer Semester is available, based on performance.

Qualifications

  • Junior or senior in regionally accredited college studying marketing, communications, business, or related field.
  • Strong familiarity with social media, including best practices for Facebook, Instagram, YouTube,LinkedIn, Twitter, etc. Experience in creating reels for social media is a plus.

Summer Intern - Engineer

All Dispatcher I positions, under general supervision, receive incoming telephone calls and evaluate requests for Police services, Fire-Rescue services, Environmental Services, and Transportation and Storm Water Services.

  • Dispatcher I employees may answer 50-170 calls a day and are required to sit for long periods. Please refer to the Supplemental Information section of the job bulletin for a more detailed description of typical Dispatcher I duties and working conditions.

Dispatcher I positions in the Police and Fire-Rescue Departments work on a Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) system and are the primary answering point for all 911 and non-emergency phone calls from within the City of San Diego (Fire-Rescue Department has dispatch contracts with Chula Vista, Coronado, Imperial Beach, National City, and Poway); elicit essential incident information from callers; determine the nature and extent of the request, the priority of the problem and the need for dispatching police, fire or medical field units; enter appropriate information by typing on a computer keyboard into a dispatch format; answer routine inquiries and refer calls not requiring dispatch to the appropriate department or agency.

Dispatcher I positions in the Environmental Services Department and the Transportation and Storm Water Department receive incoming phone calls and operate radio communications equipment to dispatch and coordinate various City units involved in servicing, maintaining, or repairing City property, assets, services, or facilities. Positions in these departments do NOT respond to 911 emergency calls.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Bilingual Case Manager is responsible for providing case planning, implementing outreach to eligible participants, conducting assessments, and crisis intervention to participants of The Center's expanding LGBTQ-affirming wrap-around and support services. The case manager works collaboratively with a team in a trauma-informed and goal-oriented way to help resolve the housing stability of program participants.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a social service-related
  • Experience: 2 or more years of experience providing case management services to people experiencing homelessness or at risk of
  • Other Qualifications: Knowledgeable about current issues related to the LGBTQIA+ community and people experiencing

WORK LOCATION:

  • On-site, in the office, and with program participants in the
  • Office in the Hillcrest Community in the City of San

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

  • Compensation: The pay range for this position is $22.00/hour- $24.00/hour and is commensurate with experience. This is a Full-Time, Regular, Non-Exempt position.
