Senior Associate Vice President for Student Affairs 

Dr. Andrea Dooley serves as the senior associate vice president for Student Affairs in the Division of Student Affairs and Campus Diversity. As senior associate vice president for Student Affairs, Dooley supports the Student Affairs areas, reporting to Vice President J. Luke Wood for the subdivisions of Health, Well-being and Accessibility; Campus Life; Finance and Operations; and Access and Community Standards. Dooley, who has more than 15 years of progressive leadership experience in higher education administration, joined the division’s leadership team in January 2017.

Prior to her appointment, Dooley served as an assistant vice chancellor for Student Affairs at University of California, Berkeley. She also held previous leadership roles at San Diego State University and at the University of California San Diego. Her first position working in Student Affairs was in SDSU’s Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships in 2004.

Dooley is a first-generation college student who earned three degrees from San Diego State University. She attributes much of her personal and professional success to her student experiences at SDSU; this makes her very passionate about serving the SDSU community and contributing to the success of all its students.

Dooley earned a bachelor's degree in social science, a master's degree in education with an emphasis in postsecondary leadership and a doctoral degree in educational leadership from SDSU.
