Trans Week of Empowerment (TWOE) is a series of programs and community engagement opportunities intended to hold space for uplifting, empowering, and celebrating the trans, non-binary, and gender non-conforming communities. 

Previous TWOE events have been hosted in collaboration with the Pride ERG, other cultural centers at SDSU, and local community organizations and speakers.

Lavender Graduation celebrates the achievements of graduating undergraduate and graduate 2SLGBTQIA+ students. In coordination with LGBTQ+ Studies, Lavender Graduation provides graduating students the opportunity to share meaningful acknowledgments and be in community with fellow 2SLGBTQIA+ graduates, faculty, and staff. During the ceremony in early May, graduates receive a certificate and rainbow cord to wear at SDSU's official commencement ceremony.

The Flag Raising Ceremony celebrates San Diego Pride month with the raising of the progressive pride flag over the SDSU campus. The event allows members of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community and their allies to come together and celebrate 2SLGBTQIA+ lives and stories, pay homage to 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals who came before, and be in community with one another.

In recognition of the many queer Black activists throughout history and today, The Pride Center hosts a week of events and workshops, with each event highlighting and empowering Black queer students by celebrating their identities and achievements and educating community members about ways to be an ally for queer Black individuals.

Transgender Day of Remembrance (TDOR) is a day to memorialize the countless lives lost due to transphobia and violence towards trans and gender non-conforming individuals and communities. Started in memory of Rita Hester, a transgender woman killed in 1998, TDOR is observed annually on November 20 by community organizations and advocates.

The Pride Center holds an annual vigil honoring the lives of trans and gender non-conforming individuals.

Peer-led support groups serve as a safe and affirming space for 2SLGBTQIA+ students to build community through connecting with peers and discussing shared lived experiences.

2023-2024 Peer-Led Support Groups:

• BlacQspace: a space dedicated to fostering community, dialogue, and healing for Black 2SLGBTQIA+ students
• Jotería Sin Fronteras: a space to connect with other queer and trans Latinx students, in collaboration with the Latinx Resource Center
• Queer Femme Healing Circle (QFHC): a space to connect with other femmes and discuss the lived experiences of queerness and being femme-presenting, in collaboration with the Women's Resource Center
• Queering the Norm: a space where individuals with a non-traditional college experience can be in community, sharing lived experiences and changing the norm

The Pride Center hosts many programs throughout the year.

2023-2024 Programs:

• Queer Crafternoon: time for crafting in community with other 2SLGBTQIA+ students with no experience needed and all supplies provided
• Kickin’ It Queer: outside time for 2SLGBTQIA+ folks to experience a new sport (soccer, kickball, flag football, etc.) in a gender-affirming environment
