Description: The 10-Week Summer Internship program is an extraordinary opportunity to gain hands-on experience and to learn from best-in-class talent at a first-class organization. Experience day to day projects and tasks in Marketing! You will work during the season on game and non-game days to get the full experience. Your time will not only be spent adding significant value to the organization, but you will also get the opportunity to build amazing relationships throughout the organization through a series of Lunch and Learns and Networking Events. The program's focus is to provide insight to what the workforce is like, a taste of the professional sports industry and help guide you to a career suited for you.

Responsibilities :

  • Shadow the Marketing department and train in a variety of tasks related to owned and paid media

  • Learn about aspects of an omnichannel marketing campaign that supports business goals

  • Gain exposure to marketing team meetings, and other related roles including social media, fan engagement, video production, graphic design, and in-game entertainment

  • Assist with the creation of promotional talking points, radio copy, marketing emails, and digital ad copy

  • Support with media partnerships, including but not limited to drop-in copy, media packages, and fulfilling prize packs

  • Aid in the execution of the giveaway marketing plan, as well as the distribution day of game

  • Build reports that recap campaign efforts for sponsors and senior leadership

  • Analyze results of email marketing campaigns, digital ad campaigns, and provide suggestions and input

  • Help the marketing team with various projects that may require organization, research, and brainstorming

  • Completes a dedicated project with the understanding that it would be presented to leadership at the end of the year

  • Support various other projects that may be assigned on a weekly or one-off basis

  • Other duties and projects as assigned

Job Requirements:

  • Current college/university student who has completed Sophomore or Junior year by June 2023 OR current graduate student

  • Must be at least 18 years old

  • Advanced computer skills with experience in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)

  • Experience in and demonstrated ability to use basic office equipment (telephone, fax, copier, etc.)

  • Organized, able to follow directions and meet all deadlines established

  • Consistent, punctual and regular attendance

  • Must be available early June 2023 through mid August 2023

  • Professional image and demeanor

  • Strong ability to work well with co-workers and supervisors in a team environment

Student Financial Center Junior Counselor

SDSU Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships

Description: The Student Financial Center Junior Counselor position will act as the first point of contact for students, parents, and the campus community insofar as general financial aid, scholarship and student accounts information. The Junior Counselor will be tasked with answering inquiries regarding the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), the California Dream Application, Aztec Scholarship information, Billing and Refunds. They will also assist students to navigate in the new my.SDSU portal. The position involves working in our Student Financial Center, which is a virtual help desk. In-office availability will be required as well.

Requirements:

  • Be required to participate in paid virtual training sessions developed for this position.
  • Must be available for 2-hour shifts between 9:00am and 5:00pm. Each applicant will be assigned 1-2 shifts per day
  • Navigate the my.SDSU portal to assist with answering questions correlated to document submission (verification, appeals, concurrent enrollment, etc.).
  • Be very familiar with SDSU’s Student Financial Center, Financial Aid & Scholarships, and Student Account Services website.
  • Be familiar with resources offered via StudentAid.Gov.
  • Interpret financial accounts and relay findings.
  • Assist students & parents with questions relating to filing the FAFSA or the California Dream Act Application, Billing and Refunds.
  • Use conflict resolution techniques to de-escalate tense or emotionally charged conversations.
  • Abide by and follow the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and Campus Records Policies and Procedures.
