Project Engineer Intern

Description

The Project Engineer Intern role is a full-time, fully paid, temporary position at our San Diego office. This individual will work in both the field as well as the office and gain invaluable experiences by applying the knowledge and skills learned during the program. 

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the execution and support of Raymond projects
  • Assist project management in coordinating the activities of a project to ensure cost, schedule, safety, and quality standards are met
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of construction project schedules
  • Participate in project management meetings
  • Conduct a contract review
  • Participate in process submittals and RFI reviews
  • Take part in safety and quality control walks
  • Participate in project take-off and/or project close-out
  • Create purchase orders and change orders 

Qualifications

  • Actively pursuing a Construction Management or Engineering degree at an Accredited University (possessing a GPA of 2.5 or higher) OR possess a minimum of two (2) years of experience in construction or a related field

The program will expose a participant to various areas of Raymond’s operations allowing an individual to gain tactical, real-world construction experience. Food Science Research Assistant

B. FUNCTION OF EMPLOYING UNIT
Instructional Technology Services (ITS) provides support and leadership to the university in the effective uses of academic technologies. We enhance learning, facilitate pedagogical research, and support strategic initiatives in service of student success. ITS fosters collaboration and innovation with faculty and university stakeholders in the design, development, and effective use of learning environments and educational media. There are 23 full-time staff members and 16 part time student assistants.

C. PURPOSE OF POSITION
Under general supervision of the Supervisor of One-Stop Support, Student Assistants help ITS staff in supporting instruction by way of faculty training, equipment checkout, maintenance of learning spaces, learning management system support, and miscellaneous academic technologies support. 

D. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES
Responsibility/Duty 

  • 30% of time: Guide faculty and staff in using instructional technologies such as Canvas, Zoom, Respondus, and Mediasite.
  • 30% of time: Assist faculty in learning spaces and provide equipment troubleshooting
  • 30% of time: Answer incoming general and technical questions via ServiceNow
  • 5% of time: Perform equipment check-in/checkout procedures at ITS Checkout Counter
  • 5% of time: Assist with various projects as needed. 

E. REQUIREMENTS 
Minimum Qualifications

  • Admission or registration as CSU student at least part-time.
  • Must have a minimum GPA of 2.6.
  • Must have at least 3 semesters before graduation. 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to learn and perform assigned work; ability to work cooperatively with faculty, staff, and other students; and ability to accept responsibility.
  • Must have strong communications skills.
  • Must have strong customer service skills.
