Job Summary of Roles and Responsibilities 
POWER Engineers is currently seeking a talented electrical engineering student for a summer 2025 internship in our San Diego, CA office. The successful applicant will be assisting in performing electrical studies and/or developing and troubleshooting supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems for utility and industrial/commercial clients. Applicable power systems primarily include conventional and renewable generation facilities, substations, transmission systems, and distribution systems. Activities will include one or more of the following:

  • Protective Relaying: short circuit and symmetrical component analysis, time-current coordination, protection scheme, and criteria development, relay settings calculation, integration with SCADA systems, NERC compliance, and arc flash analysis. Applicable software: AcSELerator Quickset (SEL-5030), AcSELerator Architect, GE Enervista, ASPEN Oneliner, SKM-PTW, ETAP, RSCAD/RTDS.
  • Power System Planning Studies: steady-state real and reactive power flow including outage contingencies, generation interconnect feasibility, P-V and Q-V analysis for voltage stability margins, dynamic stability performance, automation of large batch simulations, working with models from NERC regional entities (WECC, MRO, SERC, etc.), NERC compliance. Applicable Software: PSS/E, PSLF, PowerWorld, Python Scripting.
  • Infrastructure Design studies: substation grounding, corona and electric and magnetic fields, insulation coordination (lightning, switching surge, and contamination performance), transient (time domain) simulation, power quality (harmonics, voltage flicker, over/under voltage, etc.), motor starting, AC interference (transmission line interaction with railroads and pipelines). Applicable Software: CDEGS, ATP-EMTP, PSCAD.
  • Networking and Communications: design and configure network and communication paths for Remote Terminal Units (RTUs), protective relays, meters, Human Machine Interface (HMIs), PLC’s and other SCADA system equipment; develop basic specifications for fiber optic, microwave, power line carrier, or radio communication paths; travel to project sites to troubleshoot and commission network and communication systems. Applicable network and communication protocols: DNP, Modbus, SEL Communication Protocol, Goose Messaging, IEC 61850.
  • Logic and Control Systems: develop and implement logic and control schemes for remote and local operation of power system equipment; develop programs on various platforms for the implementation of these schemes; travel to project sites to test and commission the control schemes. Applicable Logic and Control Platforms: SEL RTAC, Orion, Cooper SMP, GE-D20.
  • Data Acquisition: Prepare points lists of all data to be transferred between control centers and controlled apparatus, assign and program data addressing and routing information, develop Human Machine Interface (HMI) screens, and travel to project sites to test and commission data transfer schemes. Applicable Software: Wonderware, Clearview, AcSELerator RTAC, Visual Basic, OSIPI, Python scripting etc.

Required Education/Experience

Position Overview 
Job Description: We are seeking a Senior Accountant with 3+ years of experience in real estate or investment management whose strengths lie in financial analysis and reporting. In the role, you will be responsible for the financial review and reporting for a portfolio of multiple Business Unit assets and will also assist with cash flow projections, IRR calculations, and reporting to lenders and investors. As a member of the Finance & Analytics team, you will interact with senior management and provide key analytic tools for tracking the performance of the Business Unit portfolio of assets. The position can be based at the Company’s Palo Alto (corporate headquarters) or Irvine offices and reports to an Accounting Manager.

Duties include but are not limited to, maintaining, and analyzing accounting records, reviewing and approving monthly and quarterly financial reports, preparing interim and year-end audit work papers, submitting lender compliance reports, as well as other financial reports to management and/or owners.
This is a full-time position with typical in-office, daily hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Flexible hours and partial remote work is an option.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Review and approve monthly financial statements prepared by third-party property management companies, which function may include reconciling errors, proposing journal entries, and reviewing and researching variance analyses.
  • Assist in the preparation of the annual property budgets for the assigned portfolio of properties.
  • Prepare and submit monthly/quarterly/annual financial and compliance reports to lenders and partners, including preparation of loan draw requests and equity contribution and distribution calculations, summaries, and notices.
  • Calculate monthly equity contributions made by MMC to each property to determine the long-term cost of equity and determine how it compares to the IC Report.
  • Prepare interim and year-end tax compliance, audit, and/or tax work papers and assist in the Q&A with external auditors.
  • Provide accurate and timely financial information to other internal departments and under specific deadlines.
  • Attend and participate in cross-functional Business Unit team meetings with Portfolio Operations.
  • Provide regular reporting to Portfolio Operations regarding revenue and expense trends and metrics, as well as analyze and benchmark the performance of assets within the respective Business Unit.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks with flexibility to adapt and adjust on an ad hoc basis, as needed.

Position Overview: 
Allied Universal® Event Services is looking to hire Event Staff. This position is responsible for duties such as access control welcoming and ushering guests, and providing superior customer service. Event Staff team members are also responsible for directing foot traffic, and ensuring the cleanliness, operational efficiency and maintenance of designated areas. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Assists in all aspects of event day preparation and execution.
  • Allows appropriate entry into each venue, may collect and/or scan tickets, verify wristbands and badges, direct traffic coming in and out of the venue.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of the policies, procedures and regulations of different venues, facilities and events.
  • Initiates a genuine, friendly and personal greeting to our guests as they arrive at your facility entrance, aisle, concourse area or other location, and a sincere thank you as you complete your encounter with each guest.
  • Provides guests with helpful directions and/or suggestions that will enhance their entertainment experience.
  • Interactions with guests include a smile and use of a natural speaking voice, including natural inflection and a friendly tone. 


Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must have a high school diploma (or equivalent).
  • As a condition of employment, employee must successfully complete a background investigation and a post-offer/pre-employment drug/alcohol test and may be required to pass a
  • Driver’s Record check. Be professional, articulate and able to use good independent judgment and discretion.
  • Must be able to work overtime as needed.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills required.
