Responsibilities
- Supporting the field mentor during system installation, conducting routine on-site corrective repairs and (PM) preventative maintenance on Water’s systems.

Qualifications

Duties:
Under the close supervision of a Senior Water Resource Control Engineer and consistent with good customer service practices and the goals of the State Board’s Strategic Plan and the San Diego Water Board’s Practical Vision, the incumbent will perform water quality engineering work related to the San Diego Water Board’s Stormwater Program. Specific job duties and responsibilities are described in the Duty Statement.
The position requires the application of engineering methods and principles in performing activities related to analyzing stormwater data, reviewing reports, and performing field inspections to assess compliance with stormwater permits, and prepare documentation. The incumbent is expected to be courteous and provide timely responses to internal/external customers, following through on commitments, and to solicit and consider internal/external customer input when completing work assignments. The Community Volunteer Ambassador (CVA) Program combines the strength of a national leader in conservation service with the National Park Service to train emerging leaders to assist park units in building lasting connections to communities.
- Climbing out of his boat and onto shore in 1542, Juan Rodriguez Cabrillo stepped into history as the first European to set foot on what is now the West Coast of the United States. In addition to telling the story of 16th century exploration, Cabrillo National Monument is home to a wealth of cultural and natural resources. It offers tremendous views of San Diego region and excellent opportunity to explore this natural and cultural history in the area- the Old Point Loma Lighthouse, Whale Overlook, beautiful coastal area, intertidal zone, birding, wildflowers, and more!
- Our volunteers are a diverse coalition of all origins who serve this park with their skills, dedication, and passion. In 2022, they donated more than 12,500 hours of service to the park. That's the equivalent to the work of at least six full-time employees! - Cabrillo National Monument is seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic recent graduate for a paid internship position in volunteer coordination. This unique role offers a blend of administrative responsibilities and hands-on fieldwork, ideal for individuals passionate about public lands and volunteer management. As an integral part of the Interpretation, Education, and Volunteers (IEV) team, the Volunteer Program Intern (CVA) will gain valuable experience in volunteer program development, outreach, and professional development. Position Overview:
The Back Office Technician is responsible for performing a variety of patient care, office, and laboratory duties. The Back Office Technician prepares patients for examination and assists other optical professionals in providing treatment to the eyes.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

- Ensures a positive and professional environment where patients feel comfortable; prepares patients for treatment and assists doctors.
- Collects and documents the patient’s chief complaint.
- Verifies patient’s ocular and medical health history. Documents any medications patient is taking.
- Obtains consents from patients. Ensures patients read and sign the consents.
- Performs Refractions.
- Administers basic Visual Acuity (VA) assessments.
- Performs intraocular pressure (IOP) tests with a Tonopen unit.
- Takes Fundus photos.
- Administers a Visual Field (VF) test.
- Performs Flourescein Angiogram (FA) procedures.
- Performs Indocyanine Green Angiography (ICG) procedures.
- Administers topical ophthalmic and dilation medications to patients.
- Maintains a clean, sterile, and stocked exams rooms.
- Provides written instructions and/or patient education materials for the patient to review at home.
- Ensures patient understands all instructions.
- Provides accurate documentation and summarization of an ocular examination, while maintaining patient flow and communication regarding appointment status.
- Files patient forms and updates information in CareCoud/EMR system.
- In some clinics, may be required to drive patients in a company-provided vehicle.
- Maintains an appropriate professional appearance and demeanor in accordance with Company policies.
- Keep commitments and keep direct supervisor informed of work progress, timetables, and issues.
- Maintain strict compliance with State, Federal and other regulations (e.g., OSHA, WC, HIPAA, ADA, FEHA, DOL, HR policies and practices).
- Other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
REQUIRED: High School education, GED or equivalent. Valid driver’s license and automobile insurance.
Ability to travel to other clinics as assigned.
DESIRABLE: Experience in the Ophthalmic or Optometric Industry. Experience as a Back Office Technician.
CERTIFICATES/LICENSES/REGISTRATIONS:
- Certified Ophthalmic Technician (preferred)
- Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (preferred)
- Valid Driver’s License may be required based on clinic location(s).

- Skills required include use and knowledge of WORD, EXCEL and use of standard office equipment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

- This is primarily an office classification. Temperature conditions are controlled with limited direct exposure to hazardous physical substances. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
- Ability to travel to between offices.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, see, talk, and hear. The employee will frequently lift and/or carry reports, records and other materials that typically weigh less than 20 pounds. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, bend, or crouch.
- Finger dexterity is needed to access, enter, and retrieve data using a computer keyboard, calculator, and other standard office equipment.
