Operations Management Paid Internship (Lavin)

SDSU Lavin Entrepreneurship Center

Wage: $15/hour

Description: The role of the Operations Manager is to assist with overseeing the operations for ValueVision, Inc., and providing administrative support in all areas of the company. The operations manager will work directly with the President of the company as well as with developers and other administrative contractors. This position will have the opportunity to contribute to the development and implementation of organizational strategies, policies and practices, sales and marketing and most all aspects of this young company.

Qualifications: 

  • Current Undergraduate or Graduate student (Graduate Preferred)
  • Excellent computer skills and proficiency with a variety of computer applications including word-processing, spreadsheets, databases, on-line systems, the Internet, as well as online calendaring and email
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders; act as a team player while collaborating with diverse skill sets
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, go-getter and self-starter
  • Strong organizational and project management and communication skills

  • Prefer a sophomore or junior in good standing 
  • Must be friendly, polite, professional, and able to work independently with close attention to detail

  • Frequently interacts with faculty, staff, and students in a vibrant and busy office
  • Competent on a PC or MAC with a satisfactory working knowledge of G-Suite, Word, Excel, Adobe

Qualifications: 

  • Currently pursuing a B.S. degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, or another related STEM field.

Community Service Officer (CSO) Program

SDSU - University Police Department

Wage: $15-18/hour

Description: The University Police Department offers currently employed Community Service Officers the opportunity to volunteer to participate in the CSO Academy. CSOs who wish to take advantage of this opportunity learn about law enforcement first-hand from police officers and professional staff. Students are exposed to a variety of learning opportunities.

Qualifications: 

  • Conduct regular inspections of all university property, particularly parking areas, grounds and buildings
  • Operate SDSU's Red and Black Shuttle
  • Enforce parking and permit regulations
  • Lock/unlock university buildings/facilities
  • Observe and report suspicious activity, hazardous conditions and/or criminal violations
  • Provide security services for campus organizations and/or functions
