SDSU Researchers Make Impact in San Diego - and Beyond!
In March, for example, assistant biology professor Cristal Zuniga used part of a National
Science Foundation grant to host a two-week exchange program between her lab and a
local fifth grade class at Fletcher Hills Elementary in El Cajon.
Recently, SDSU researchers led by associate professor Jillian Maloney spent 12 days
at sea identifying potential hazards to coastal communities, including how often underwater
earthquakes and landslides may happen, how large they could be, how likely they are
to generate tsunamis and what the overall impact these natural disasters could have
on seaside localities.
Read more about both the exchange program and the coastal community research on SDSU Newscenter.
