This role supports front desk and back desk operations and is also responsible for screening for program compliance and adherence to department policies. This role supports technical and administrative processes in Handshake, CalJOBS, and various other cloud-based job and internship platform and databases. This role welcomes and supports visitors that may include students, alumni, faculty, staff, employers, and community members through excellent customer service. This role ensures a consistent and positive experience for all visitors while supporting the administrative and operational functions of the department. This role also supports event planning that includes supporting the logistics and programming for career fairs, student educational events, and employer connection events. 

Duties and Responsibilities: 
* Provide customer service; support technical tasks that may include making adjustments and data updates to software platforms and databases. 
* Support the maintenance of online cloud-based platforms
* Support admin staff through clerical activities for space reservations
* Support the processing of documentation that may include program eligibility criteria
* Coordinate and present Handshake demo presentations.
* Initiate risk management activities when approving employers in Handshake
* Attend regularly scheduled team meetings, staff meetings, and special committees.  

Qualifications:
* Strong drive to learn, ability to conduct research and analyze data while meeting deadlines, multi-tasking, and with an attention to detail. 
* Proficient in writing and verbal communication skills. 
* Ability to take initiative, including planning and completing assigned work independently while working in a team environment.
* Ability to learn and execute tasks using Google Workspace (Gmail, Google Calendar, Drive, Google Docs, Google Slides, Google Chrome, and Google Sheets) Adobe Acrobat, and Zoom. 

Biology Student Research Assistant

Position Summary
