Student Research Symposium HSI Awards
This previous year, three students were awarded the SDSU HSI Award at the 2025 SDSU Student Research Symposium.
The purpose is to recognize the most outstanding presentations in research, scholarship, and creative activities. This research of these three award recipients furthers our understanding of serving Latinx, Chicanx, Hispanic, Asian American, Native American, and Pacific, Islander students in higher education, or contributes to the commitment to honor our designation as an HSI.
Congratulations to Brianna Angel and Colten Mouzin (Advisor: Laura Coco), College of Health and Human Services, studied noise-induced hearing loss in Latino farmworkers.
Congratulations to Fernanda Carillo (Advisor: Gabriela Fernandez), College of Arts and Letters, studied health inequalities at the US-Mexico Border and empowering women.
The Office of HSI Affairs is truly grateful for all these participants for their dedication, commitment, and hard work.
