HOMECOMING 2022 IS HERE!
This year marks a historic Homecoming! SDSU football returns to San Diego in its new stadium and commemorates the program’s 100th season
as the university celebrates its 125th academic year.
The Homecoming game is at 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5 against the University of Nevada
Las Vegas at Snapdragon Stadium, but the entire week is full of activities on campus,
including the annual Pep Rally, the 26th Annual Wreath-Laying Ceremony at the SDSU War Memorial, the annual National Pan Hellenic Council Yardshow and a kickoff party. In addition, campus – and San Diego – landmark buildings will
light up red in the evenings to spread the Homecoming spirit.

Connect with Professionals at STEM Shadow Day
STEM Shadow Day on Thursday, Nov. 17 will be hosted by the SDSU MESA Program for SDSU,
San Diego City College and Southwestern College students. They will experience a day
in the life of real engineers and scientists, many of whom are SDSU alumni.

Time to Apply to FAFSA, Clear Cashier Holds to Register
The 2023-24 FAFSA application is now open. Reapply for Financial Aid by completing
the FAFSA or Dream Application. Some aid programs are awarded based on available funding, so be sure to apply early.

INTERNATIONAL PEACE VILLAGE RETURNS NOV. 17
Students showcase their heritage and homelands at the International Peace Village
from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 17 in the Conrad Prebys Aztec Student Union.
SDSU’s biggest international event of the year is complete with music, performances
and fascinating displays of cultural traditions.

BLACK IN CRIMSON AND BLACK MURAL DEDICATION NOV. 4
Join the university community for an engaging afternoon on Friday, Nov. 4 to honor
the prominent Black and African American alumni and faculty highlighted in the Black in Crimson in Black Mural in the Love Library Dome.
The event is presented by the Division of Student Affairs and Campus Diversity and
the Institute for the Arts, Humanities, and Social Justice. The event is 2 - 4 p.m.
in the Library Dome. RSVP to attend here.
Those recognized in the mural: late political science professor Walter Miles, SDSU’s
second Black professor Charles Bell, California Secretary of State Shirley Weber,
first Black graduate Henrietta Goodwin, drag icon and activist Amber St. James, former
professor, dean and interim provost Joe Johnson and the university’s first Black administrator
Harold Brown.
CELEBRATE NATIVE AMERICAN HERITAGE MONTH
November is Native American Heritage Month, and SDSU will host events to recognize
the lives and histories of Native American/Indigneous communities and to acknowledge
and appreciate their sovereignty and many contributions.
This month is a time to also acknowledge how Native American cultural traditions and
world views are still present on the unceded land of the Kumeyaay. Throughout this
month, we invite all members of the SDSU community to participate and engage in the
Native American Heritage Month events which are designed to honor and create visibility
for many different Native American Nations in the United States and beyond. Events will be centered around activism, art, stories, histories and so much more.

Explore Classes for Winter Session
Winter Session classes are a great opportunity to make up ground toward graduation
or explore a new area of interest.
Classes run from Dec. 15, 2022, to Jan. 12, 2023 and are offered fully online in a
wide range of topics.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,’ San Diego Gulls highlight SDSU GO! November slate

Go to the movies on Sunday, Nov. 13 for “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” from 12:30
- 4 p.m.. Participants will receive one free movie ticket. Transportation is not provided,
but students may ride the trolley from the SDSU station to the Fashion Valley station.
Hockey-lovers and ice novices alike are invited to the Pechanga Sports Arena to watch
the Gulls face off against the Grand Rapids Griffins at 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 19.
Participants receive free game admission and transportation.

Deadline Nears for Aztecs Rock Hunger
You can still help SDSU Feed the Need! Participate in the annual Aztecs Rock Hunger campaign to help fight food and nutrition insecurity in San Diego and the SDSU community.
The annual drive concludes Nov. 6, and proceeds will benefit the Jacobs & Cushman
San Diego Food Bank, A.S. Food Pantry and the SDSU Economic Crisis and Response Team.

AZTECS MEN’S AND WOMEN’S HOOPS READY FOR BIG SEASONS
Expectations are high for both San Diego State basketball programs, which begin their
seasons this month.
The Aztecs men’s team is ranked No. 19 in the preseason AP Top 25, the fourth such ranking in school history,
and is considered the favorite in a loaded Mountain West Conference. Aztecs senior
Matt Bradley is racking up preseason accolades, including being named to the All-Conference
team.
The women’s team was picked to finish fifth in the MWC, and senior Sophia Ramos was named to the five-member
preseason All-Mountain West Team.
Students receive free admission to each regular-season home basketball game. San Diego
State student tickets for men's basketball are now mobile and can be accessed at GoAztecs.com/StudentMobileTix. The first claim date will be three business days before each home game, except for
university holidays. Women’s basketball tickets are distributed on game day at the
Viejas Arena Box Office.
SDSU Leadership Summit Conference 2023: A Pathway to Possibilities
The SDSU Leadership Summit is a one-day, on campus conference designed to further develop your leadership and networking skills. It is the the premier leadership conference on the West Coast. Grand Opening Nov. 15
