JuLY/AUGUST 2023 @STATE
PRIDE 2023 IS HERE!
National Pride Month may be over, but San Diego State is just getting started with
its celebration of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community!
SDSU continues the festivities in July with a week of events, including the Pride
Flag Raising Ceremony, Rainbow Garden Party, Gender Affirming Clothing Swap, Crafting
& Community, Tie-Dye & Pride and participation in the San Diego Pride Parade.
The flag ceremony takes place July 12 from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the North Grand Entry
of the Conrad Prebys Aztec Student Union. Join SDSU and The Pride Center for the event
that serves as a prelude to the San Diego Pride Parade. The ceremony will include
remarks from campus leaders and light refreshments.
Also, join us July 15 and be a part of SDSU’s Pride Parade contingent. The parade
begins at the Hillcrest Pride Flag at University Avenue and Normal Street. Sign up
to participate with other members of the SDSU community or to volunteer!
For more information about all of the Pride Month events, email the Pride Center at
[email protected] or visit the Pride Month website.

Did You Check Your Summer Financial Aid?
If you’re attending summer school, make sure to check your summer financial aid award
under the “Financial Aid'' tile in my.SDSU. To view summer eligibility, you will have to set the year to 2022-23.
Any change in enrollment after the Financial Aid office has disbursed your aid could
result in a change to grant eligibility — and possibly a bill. If your financial aid
was disbursed when you were in a certain number of units and then you dropped some
units, you may no longer be entitled to some of the aid that was disbursed to you.
Fall Financial Aid Disbursements Coming
Financial aid disbursements for the fall 2023 semester are coming in August. Refer to your my.SDSU accounts for their specific due date for tuition and fees. By the due date, you need to pay tuition and fees in full, enroll in the installment plan or have accepted financial aid on file. Fall financial aid will begin to disburse in August, 10 days prior to the start of the fall semester. Check your fall financial aid total on my.SDSU to ensure your aid is enough to cover the full fees.
Undergrads Can Now Enroll in 21 Units
Undergraduate students will now be allowed to enroll in up to 21 units, beginning
in the fall 2023 semester, up from the previous maximum 18 units.
If you want to take more than 21 units, you must receive approval from your academic
adviser. Visit the Student Success website to learn how to schedule an appointment with your coordinated care adviser.

Congratulations to all of our spring athletics teams for a great showing, and special
recognition to SDSU Softball, which played in the program’s first NCAA Super Regional! The program finished the year ranked No. 18/19 in the final ESPN and USA Today polls,

The Aztecs track and field team also saw two athletes, Jenna Fee Feyerabrand and Simone Johnson, qualify for the NCAA Outdoor Championships, where Fee Feyerabrand finished 11th
overall in the heptathlon and Johnson finished 11th in the triple jump!
