Academic Success Coaching Program
The Academic Success Coaching Program (ASP) is an academic coaching program for first and second year, Pell-eligible students of color. The program was established in Fall 2019 under the Division of Diversity & Innovation, in collaboration with the Division of Academic Affairs. The program was created to address California State University’s ambitious Graduation Initiative 2025, to increase graduation rates for all CSU students while eliminating opportunity and achievement gaps.
Some of the biggest equity gaps in 6-year graduation rates that exist at San Diego State University are for Pell-eligible students who are Pacific Islander, Native American, Latinx, and Black. The Academic Success Program was created to provide academic case management and targeted interventions for these specific student populations to foster their academic success at SDSU.

Drop-In Virtual Coaching Sessions
Monday–Thursday, 1:00pm-4:00pm
You do not need to schedule an appointment to meet with an Academic Success Coach during virtual drop-in coaching hours. You can connect during virtual drop-in coaching hours by following the steps below:
- Log in to your SDSU Zoom account using your SDSUid. Select Join and enter Meeting ID: 91394224729
- Once you are logged in, you will enter the Virtual Coaching Waiting Room.
- Upon entering the Virtual Coaching Waiting Room, please test your audio and ensure you have connection to audio and video. You must also sign in using this Google form.
- An Academic Success Coach will meet with students in the order in which they enter the Virtual Coaching Waiting Room. You will meet one-on-one with an Academic Success Coach once they become available.
