Join us for GreenFest 2022 as we celebrate Our Trees, Our Bees and Our Seas! 

GreenFest is a weeklong series of events April 4-8 that share the importance of living a sustainable lifestyle, celebrating diversity and promoting SDSU pride! The GreenFest Concert, headlined by hip hop superstar Gunna, will take place on Friday, April 8 and will be free to all SDSU students (limited tickets available).

Spike balls not drinks event for sdsu student april 7 from 7-9pm at ENS 700 field

Spike Balls, Not Drinks returns to SDSU!

Join us for “Spike Balls, Not Drinks,” an annual Spike Ball Tournament put on by FratMANers and SISSTER at SDSU. 

The tournament will take place from 7-9 p.m. April 7 on ENS Field. The event is open to all SDSU students. Join us for games, raffle prizes, live music, safer sex supplies, campus resources and more!

CONGRATULATIONS, AZTECS BASKETBALL

Congratulations to the SDSU Aztecs Basketball team on earning a berth to the NCAA Tournament!

The Aztecs earned the No. 8 seed in the Midwest Region of the tournament after finishing the regular season as the runners-up in the Mountain West Conference tournament. This was the team’s second straight tournament appearance and the third in five years. 

Junior guard Matt Bradley was named to the All Mountain West Conference 2nd Team and senior forward Nathan Mensah was named the Mountain West co-Defensive Player of the Year.

Well-being & Health Promotion’s Health Expo set for April 12

Well-being and Health Promotion's annual Health Expo will be happening this spring from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 12 at the North Library Walkway. 

Join us for information about local and on-campus health and well-being resources, networking and career opportunities, and fun activities and incentives. Mark your calendar today!

Financial Aid Awards released for the 22-23 school year

The Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships has released financial aid awards for Fall 2022 admitted students, who filed a 2022-23 FAFSA or Dream Act application, and have no pending items on their "Tasks" tile / "To-Do" list. Financial Aid awards can be viewed via my.SDSU

Continuing students will be able to view their Fall 2022 - Spring 2023 financial aid eligibility in late May via my.SDSU. For now, continuing students should check their my.SDSU portal for pending documents on the "Tasks" tile. They should submit these documents as soon as possible, otherwise the 2022-23 financial aid eligibility will not be posted in May.

Summer financial aid eligibility will be posted in May via AidLink. Students must be registered in courses to view their eligibility.

Take the Sexual Violence Climate Survey starting April 4!

It takes each of us to make change happen. Help SDSU to develop and improve campus-wide sexual and relationship violence prevention and intervention services by completing the 2022 Sexual Violence Campus Climate Survey. All students will be emailed a unique link to the survey starting April 4th.

The first 50 participants to complete the survey will each receive a $10 gift card to Trader Joe’s. Additionally, all participants will have the opportunity to enter a drawing for a set of Apple AirPods Pro. Participants will be notified toward the end of the survey period with information about retrieving their item(s), if applicable.

SDSU Southwest Asian & North African heritage Month

SWANA HERITAGE MONTH

April is Southwest Asian and North African Heritage Month, and SDSU will celebrate the vibrant history, cultures, experiences, contributions and resiliency of the SWANA community. 

The Center of Intercultural Relations will host a series of events for SWANA Heritage Month. All members of the SDSU community are invited to participate in as many programs as possible and engage in critical dialogue with our SWANA communities at SDSU.

SDSU’s Student Ability Success Center celebrates its annual Disability Celebration Month in April with a series of campus programs to promote the diverse culture and abilities of people with disabilities.

Registration for the 2022 summer session began March 1. Visit the Summer Session website for more information including class schedules and summer session fees.

Applications for A.S. appointed positions due April 5

Applications for A.S. appointed positions are due by 5 p.m. April 5. No experience in A.S. is required to apply for any of the 24 appointed positions.

QUEST for the best vice presidential student service award

QUEST FOR THE BEST AWARDS WINNERS

Congratulations to the winners of the 2022 Quest for the Best award, the annual honor bestowed upon 10 SDSU students for their outstanding performance in academics and community service. 

The Quest for the Best Vice Presidential Student Service Award recognizes outstanding student leaders at SDSU in four key areas: academic excellence, student service and activities, community service and leadership development.

TAKE BACK THE WEEK APRIL 11-15

The SDSU Sexual Violence Task Force is pleased to support Take Back the Week in recognition of Sexual Assault Awareness Month. During Take Back the Week, which takes place April 11-15, student organizations and campus leaders organize a variety of events related to sexual violence prevention.

APIDA Resource Center grand opening April 25

The Asian Pacific Islander Desi American Resource Center will celebrate its grand opening on April 25. 

The center opened in July 2020 in the middle of the pandemic. Since then, the center has produced about 300 programs, addressed anti-Asian hate via a SDSU APIDA Pledge and Senate Resolution, and made many meaningful connections.

Community of Care expanding this Spring

SDSU’s Community of Care initiative is expanding this spring. 

First launched in fall 2020, the initiative aims to address the impact of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic on the greater campus community. 

The next phase includes a dedicated Community of Care webpage with information for students on upcoming programming and how to participate.

SDSU-IV has its first C&PS therapist

Counseling & Psychological Services has hired San Diego State University Imperial Valley’s first licensed therapist, who will be on-site and readily available to students. 

The new therapist, Gabriel Lam, joined the C&PS team this semester as part of SDSU-IV’s ongoing effort to expand mental health programs and services to students.

ECRT Advocate training on April 8

Join us on Friday April 8 for a virtual ECRT Advocate training from 9-11 a.m. Learn about the basic needs resources available to SDSU students and how to help advocate for students accessing support. Attendees will receive a certificate of completion and will be a part of our advocate network of students, staff, and faculty across campus.

Applications for the Summer Undergraduate Research Program (SURP) open April 11. SURP promotes, broadens, and supports the participation of undergraduate students in research, scholarship, creative, and performance activities at SDSU.

Aztec Scholarships General Applications open April 18 - Aug. 5

The general application in Aztec Scholarships will be open from April 18, 2022, through Aug. 5, 2022, with a priority deadline of May 13, 2022, for awards in the 2022-23 academic year. All current students and incoming students who have submitted their intent to enroll are encouraged to apply.

There are 700+ scholarship opportunities available, valued at over $5 million
