Description: As Watershed Engineering Intern you will be assigned to one of our two internal teams: Science & Modeling or Design. Both will include responsibilities typical of a full-time assistant engineer.
    
Working with the Science & Modeling team will have you doing tasks including but not limited to:

  • Supporting innovation in water resources infrastructure engineering, analysis, modeling, and stakeholder communication
  • Performing urban hydrologic analysis and watershed modeling with an emphasis on geospatial analysis, automation, and repeatable tool creation

Being assigned to our Design team you can expect to work on tasks including but not limited to:

  • Performing increasingly responsible engineering work in the design and analysis of innovative stormwater, water resources, and drainage design projects, construction field support and inspection, storm water quality inspection; and perform other duties to support our Design Team.
  • Support innovation in water resources engineering, with emphasis on design of infrastructure that is founded on watershed modeling and performance.

Molecular Biology Internship

Software Engineer Intern Embedded Systems

Summary: The candidate will create application software and board support packages for embedded products ranging from 32-bit microcontrollers to multicore ARM processors running Linux. The candidate will be responsible for designing and developing software applications using the java programming language. the This position will be collaborating closely with the embedded hardware and software engineering teams.

  • Develop, execute and valid C code on STM32 platform

Research Assistant II

Description: A research position is available in the Cline Lab at the Dorris Neuroscience Center at Scripps Research in La Jolla, CA to participate in cutting-edge studies using mouse genetics and proteomics to study aging and neurodegenerative disease mechanisms. The goal of this project is to identify brain cell-type contributions to age- and AD-related synaptic and neuronal decline. We use state-of-the-art proteomic methods together with diverse genetic, imaging, electrophysiology and behavioral strategies to assess structural and functional aspects of brain function.
The candidate will work collaboratively and be actively involved in optimizing experimental design, data analysis, data interpretation and assist in preparing manuscripts and presentations.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Oversee and maintain mouse colonies. 
  • Perform animal procedures including breeding, genotyping, injections, perfusion, and dissection.
  • Perform basic molecular biology experiments including PCR and cloning.
  • Perform biochemistry procedures including protein purification, and labeling.
  • Perform sectioning, immunohistochemistry, and imaging.
  • Generate lentiviral and adenoviral reagents.
  • Troubleshoot and modify procedures.
  • Provide interpretation and analyses of results.
  • Contribute significantly to scientific projects.
  • Collaborate closely with lab members while also working under minimal supervision.

Role:

The Molecular Biology Research Associate (part-time, 10 hours weekly) will participate in the support of Tentarix’s mammalian protein expression platform. This person will support molecular biology activities, including DNA preparation, characterization, and organization of samples for mammalian cell culture transfections and recombinant protein expression

Responsibilities :

  • Participate in the development and support of Tentarix’s mammalian expression platform.
  • Support molecular biology plasmid DNA preparation, quantification, and organization of samples for the creation of complex biologics.
  • Plan and execute experiments, analyze results, and present data at team meetings
  • Maintain a meticulous record of their research

Qualifications and Skills:

  • B.S. or college-enrolled with exposure or knowledge related to Molecular Biology or Life Sciences research.
  • Some experience with molecular biology or a willingness to learn molecular biology is a plus.
  • Goal oriented, highly organized, and capable of multitasking
  • Strong communication and record keeping abilities
  • Thrive in a cross functional team environment.
