SDSU Spiritual Life & Faith-Based Programs

San Diego State University supports the holistic well-being of all students, including spiritual well-being. There are a number of faith-based resources both on and off campus, that are available to students.

Hillel San Diego

SDSU Hillel

At Hillel of San Diego, we build community for nearly 2,000 Jewish students who go to college in San Diego at SDSU, UC San Diego, CSU San Marcos and University of San Diego.

Our talented professional staff serve as mentors and educators to provide students with valuable tools and opportunities to be Jewish leaders. Our diverse programming brings together students of all backgrounds to form deep, personal connections to Jewish life — here and in Israel. We are deeply committed to inclusion and pluralistic Judaism.Since 1992, we have been operating as an independent religious corporation in California. Today, a pillar of the San Diego Jewish community, we are the only Jewish organization with the capacity to engage the majority of university-age Jews in San Diego.

Chabad SDSU

SDSU Chabad

The Chabad House opened its doors in 1977 at SDSU with Rabbi Fradkin with a special blessing from the Lubavitcher Rebbe. Since then Chabad has been a hub of Jewish life. Chabad's mission is to inspire and educate in a warm, fun and non judgmental way. We invite you all to come visit us and participate.

Agape house SDSU

Agape House

Agape House is an inclusive outreach for all on the campus of SDSU and with young adults in the wider San Diego area. In the spirit of Agape (the New Testament word for "self-transcending love") we embody Jesus' vision of "Beloved Community." We support friendship in an open community of trust, offering hospitality, worship, spiritual growth, support for vocational discernment, leadership development, community service, recreation, small groups, retreats and cross-cultural immersion experiences.

Newman Center SDSU

Newman Center

Catholic Campus Ministry, more commonly known as the SDSU Newman Center, is a part of the Catholic Diocese of San Diego that reaches out to the students at San Diego State University. The Newman Center has been actively ministering to the campus for over 40 years and is named, like many other Catholic Ministry centers at universities across the United States, in honor of John Henry Newman, a 19th century Cardinal whose ideas laid the foundation for Catholic Campus Ministry. While we proudly come from the Catholic perspective, we invite and welcome students from any, or no, faith background to explore the big questions of life with us.

muslim student association

Muslim Student Association

The Muslim Student Association here at San Diego State University is all about creating a home for students on campus. We work hard to create programs, events, and resources that meet the educational and spiritual needs of our SDSU Muslim students. Every year we grow and we are always learning how to make the MSA better. Over the past several years we have worked with different facets of the university to ensure that Muslim students feel safe and welcome at their university, but we also encourage our members to be engaged in solving problems on campus and carving the path for future generations of Muslim students
