About the BRC Assistant Director
Donnae Prather (he/him/his) born and raised in San Diego, California began his higher educational journey at Cuyamaca Community College then transferred to San Diego State University! He obtained his bachelors and right afterwards pursued a master's degree in Counseling with a specialization in School Counseling at SDSU. While a graduate student he began working as a Graduate Assistant at the SDSU Black Resource Center. Enjoying his time working in higher education, shortly after graduation he applied for and became the Coordinator for the BRC.
While the Coordinator, he established the Black Transfer Student Support/Success program to enhance the experience of incoming transfer students at a university. As a two-time graduate from SDSU as well as community college student, he brings his life experiences to his role currently as the Assistant Director for the Black Resource Center. As a first generation graduate and transfer student, he wants to ensure students have access to support, resources, and community.
